About C11-15 Pareth-9
C11-15 Pareth-9 is the polyethylene glycol ether of a synthetic mixture of C11-15 fatty alcohols with an average of 9 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 9 at the end of the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. It changes the balance between water-attracting and fatty-component-attracting parts, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly blended and to reduce surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
