About C11-15 Pareth-15
C11-15 Pareth-15 is the polyethylene glycol ether of a synthetic C11-15 fatty alcohol mixture with an average of 15 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 15 at the end of the name refers to the average number of ethylene oxide units added; it changes the balance between water-attracting and fatty-component-attracting portions, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and sensory feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to reduce surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
