About C11-15 Pareth-12

C11-15 Pareth-12 is the polyethylene glycol ether of a synthetic mixture of C11-15 fatty alcohols with an average of 12 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 12 at the end of the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; it changes the balance between water-loving and oil-loving portions, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and skin feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
