C10-40 Isoalkyl Acid is a mixture of branched, saturated fatty acids with alkyl chains containing 10-40 carbon atoms, isolated from lanolin acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, reduce tangling and roughness to leave hair smooth and manageable, and leave the skin surface soft and smooth.[2]
