About C1-5 Alkyl Galactomannan
C1-5 Alkyl Galactomannan is a galactomannan polysaccharide grafted with C1-5 alkyl groups.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help ingredients in a formulation bind together and maintain its form, to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to help prevent the emulsified water-and-oil state from separating easily.[2] It is also used to form a thin film on the skin, hair, or nail surface after application, and to control the formulation’s viscosity and flow.[2]
