About Butyl Babassuate
Butyl Babassuate is an ester of fatty acids obtained from babassu oil and butyl alcohol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, help prevent emulsions of water and oil from separating easily, and leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
