About Bromochlorophene
Bromochlorophene is a halogenated aromatic compound.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms, reduce the prominence of unpleasant odors, and slow product deterioration during storage by inhibiting microbial proliferation in the product.[4] In Korea, it may be used in finished cosmetic products at up to 0.1%.[2] In Europe, it is permitted as a preservative at up to 0.1%.[3]
