About Bis-Vinyldimethicone/PEG-10 Dimethicone Crosspolymer
Bis-Vinyldimethicone/PEG-10 Dimethicone Crosspolymer is a copolymer of PEG-10 Dimethicone crosslinked with Vinyldimethicone.[1] The number 10 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formulation’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to help prevent an emulsion of water and oil from separating easily, form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application, and leave the skin’s surface soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to adjust the formulation’s viscosity and flow.[2]
