About Bis-Methoxy PEG-10 Poly(Tetramethylxylene Diisocyanate)
Bis-Methoxy PEG-10 Poly(Tetramethylxylene Diisocyanate) is a polymer of tetramethylxylene diisocyanate whose terminal groups are substituted with Methoxy PEG-10.[1] The number 10 indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same base structure, changing this number may affect water miscibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to help formula ingredients bind together and maintain the formula’s structure, to reduce hair tangling and rough feel for smoother grooming, and to leave the skin surface soft and smooth.[2]
