About Bis-Glyceryl Ascorbate
Bis-Glyceryl Ascorbate is an ingredient based on vitamin C whose stability or solubility characteristics have been adjusted.[1] It is a derivative formed by bonding two glyceryl groups to vitamin C. Because its water miscibility and stability toward oxygen and light differ from those of unbound vitamin C, the formula conditions and packaging may also differ. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formula ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen and to attract water to the formula and skin’s surface to help maintain moisture.[2]
