About Benzophenone-4
Benzophenone-4 is a benzophenone derivative.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce changes to products and formula ingredients caused by ultraviolet radiation, and to absorb or reflect ultraviolet radiation to reduce the amount reaching the skin.[4] In Korea, it may be used in finished cosmetic products at up to 5%.[2] In Europe, when used as a UV-filtering ingredient, it is permitted at up to 5% based on acid content.[3]
