About Behentrimonium Chloride

Behentrimonium Chloride is a quaternary ammonium salt.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, reduce hair tangling and roughness to leave it smooth, and inhibit the growth of microorganisms in the product to delay deterioration during storage.[3] In Europe, when used as a preservative, it is permitted at up to 0.1%.[2]
