About Behenamide DEA
Behenamide DEA is a mixture of ethanolamides of behenic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to increase the amount of foam and help it remain stable, and to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of the finished product is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
