About Apricotamide DEA
Apricotamide DEA is a mixture of ethanolamides of fatty acids derived from apricot kernel oil.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to increase the amount of foam and help it last longer, lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly, and control the formula's viscosity and flow.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of the finished product is limited to 0.5% maximum, and nitrosamine content must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
