Anhydroglucityl Gallate is an ester containing portions derived from an acid and an alcohol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms, slow the oxidation of formula components caused by their reaction with oxygen, and provide a temporary tightening, astringent sensation on the skin or scalp.[2] It is also used to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2]
