About Amp-Isostearoyl Hydrolyzed Soy Protein
Amp-Isostearoyl Hydrolyzed Soy Protein is the aminomethylpropanol salt of a condensation product made from hydrolyzed soy protein and isostearic acid chloride.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help wash away sebum and impurities with water, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and reduce tangling and rough texture in hair for smoother conditioning.[3] It is also used to soften and smooth the skin surface and lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of finished products is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and nitrosamine content must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
