About Amp-Isostearoyl Hydrolyzed Keratin

Amp-Isostearoyl Hydrolyzed Keratin is the aminomethyl propanol salt of a concentrated product of hydrolyzed keratin and isostearic acid chloride.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, reduce hair tangling and rough feel for smoother grooming, and leave the skin surface soft and smooth.[3] It is also used to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of the finished product is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and nitrosamine content must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
