Amp-Isostearoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen is the aminomethyl propanol salt of Isostearoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, help wash away sebum and impurities with water, and reduce friction on the skin or hair while adding a smooth feel.[3] It is also used to reduce tangling and rough feel in hair and smooth it, to smooth and soften the skin surface, and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and disperse evenly.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of finished products is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and nitrosamine content must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2]
