About Amp-Isostearoyl Gelatin/Keratin Amino Acids/Lysine Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride

Amp-Isostearoyl Gelatin/Keratin Amino Acids/Lysine Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride is the aminomethyl propanol salt of a condensate composed of isostearoyl chloride and gelatin/keratin amino acids/lysine hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, to reduce tangling and rough feel for smoother hair, and to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[3] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of the finished product is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must not exceed 50 ฮผg/kg.[2]
