AMP-Acrylates/Allyl Methacrylate Copolymer is the aminomethyl propanol salt of a copolymer made from one or more monomers consisting of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, or one of their simple esters, together with allyl methacrylate.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application and to hold the desired hair shape in place.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of the finished product is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2]
