About Ammonium Xylenesulfonate

Ammonium Xylenesulfonate is the ammonium salt of a ring-sulfonated mixture of xylene isomers.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help poorly water-soluble ingredients disperse more evenly in the aqueous phase, to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly, and to control the viscosity and flow of the formulation.[2]
