About Ammonium Sulfite
Ammonium Sulfite is an inorganic salt.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help create or straighten waves in hair, slow spoilage during storage by inhibiting the growth of microorganisms in products, and cause reactions that reduce other ingredients.[3] In Europe, when used as a preservative, it is permitted at up to 0.2% based on the content of free sulfur dioxide.[2]
