About Ammonium Laureth-12 Sulfate
Ammonium Laureth-12 Sulfate is the ammonium salt of ethoxylated lauryl sulfate.[1] The number 12 at the end of the name refers to the average number of added ethylene oxide units and changes the balance between water-loving and oil-loving parts, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and sensory feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities be washed away with water, form foam during use, and lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
