Aluminum tristearate is the aluminum salt of stearic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help powder ingredients resist caking and flow evenly, reduce friction on skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and keep emulsions from separating easily. It is also used to reduce light transmission so the contents appear less transparent, and to adjust the viscosity and flow of the formulation.[2] [2]
