About Aluminum Stearates
Aluminum Stearates is an equal-parts mixture of aluminum distearate and aluminum tristearate.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help powder ingredients remain free-flowing and evenly dispersed rather than forming clumps, reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and help keep water-and-oil emulsions from separating easily.[2] It is also used to reduce light transmission so the contents appear less translucent and to adjust formula viscosity and flow.[2]
