Aluminum Isostearates/Palmitates are the aluminum salts of a mixture of palmitic acid and isostearic acid.[1] In cosmetics, they are used to help powder ingredients flow evenly without forming clumps, prevent emulsions of water and oil from separating easily, and reduce light transmission so the contents appear less translucent.[2] They are also used to adjust the viscosity and flow of the formulation.[2]
