About Alkaline Phosphatase
Alkaline Phosphatase is an enzyme that hydrolyzes esters of phosphoric acid.[1] It is used particularly to promote removal of the 5' phosphate groups from DNA and RNA. The moisture and spreadability of finished products containing Alkaline Phosphatase may vary depending on the use concentration and the combination of moisturizing and emollient ingredients used with it. In cosmetics, it is used to leave the skin surface soft and smooth.[2]
