About Acetyl Trihexyl Citrate
Acetyl Trihexyl Citrate is an ester formed from parts derived from an acid and an alcohol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formula ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen, to bind metal ions and reduce their effects on color, fragrance, and formula stability, and to reduce friction on the skin or hair for a smoother feel.[2] It is also used to add flexibility so films or polymer layers do not become excessively hard, and to leave the skin’s surface feeling soft and smooth.[2]
