About 3-Lauryl/Tridecylglyceryl Ascorbate

3-Lauryl/Tridecylglyceryl Ascorbate is a vitamin C–based ingredient whose stability and solubility properties have been adjusted.[1] It is a derivative in which a lauryl/tridecyl glyceryl group is attached at the 3-position of vitamin C, so its stability and ability to mix with water and oil differ from those of vitamin C itself. The formulation’s acidity and storage conditions should also be set according to these properties. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formulation ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen, help attract moisture to the formulation and skin surface to maintain hydration, and leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[1]
