About 1,5-Naphthalenediol
1,5-Naphthalenediol is a bicyclic phenol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to color hair.[4] In South Korea, it may be used at up to 0.5% only in oxidative hair dyes and may not be used in other products.[2] In Europe, it may be used as a coloring ingredient in oxidative hair dyes; when the product mixed immediately before use is applied to hair, the concentration is up to 1.0%.[3]
