Shu UemuraUltime8 Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil nWhen it comes to classic department store cleansing products, this is the one! Shu Uemura feels amazing to use, so it's easy to see why it's so popular. What I like most is that it thoroughly removes makeup without leaving my skin feeling tight afterward. The oil spreads easily and blends well with makeup, and I love that I can cleanse while minimizing friction. Even on days when I wear full makeup, it removes everything cleanly, yet my skin feels moisturized after rinsing. My favorite thing is that I don't notice the tight feeling you often get with oil cleansers, like they've stripped away even the moisture your skin needs. There's no need to double cleanse, and you can use it with wet hands, so I think it's also convenient for people who want to cleanse in the bath. Honestly, it's on the expensive side for a cleanser, so it's a little disappointing that it isn't priced for casual purchases. It reminded me once again that this is a product that shows exactly why it has been loved for so long as a true cleansing classic.

ArenciaRice + LHA Pore Control Rice Cake CleanserThe finish is pretty mild for a soap. The lather is about average. I didn't feel much irritation even when my skin was acting up, so I felt like it would be easy to use for people with sensitive skin too. After washing, it feels like my skin gets slightly softer. I get the impression that a lot of rice-based skincare products leave skin feeling plump, and this had a similar feel. While it does feel moisturizing, sometimes I was bothered by the slight residue it left behind, and personally I found it a little underwhelming. I used it in the summer, so it might have suited me better in winter when dryness is more of a concern. I was also hoping it would help with clarity, but personally I didn't notice much of a difference.

ONE BY KOSÉPore Clear Oil Cleansing Oil[Used it up] Bought it at Welcia 🛒 Then bought the refill at Welcia too 🛒 I mainly use ORBIS when it comes to oil cleansers, and this one feels like it has pretty strong cleansing power, so I use it about once a week or once every two weeks. It's not like all the roughness and clogged pores disappear completely in one go!! but it definitely leaves my skin feeling refreshed enough. But it doesn't make my skin feel tight.

BioreOuchi de Esthe Deep Clay Facial CleanserUmm, I might be super late to the party, but I finally managed to buy it and I'm so excited🥹👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Hidden pore plugs! Self-destruct!! I can finally use Biore's pore-plug-dissolving face wash~ It kept being out of stock at the manufacturer, but maybe it's finally starting to hit stores again💭💭 It's a non-foaming gel cleanser, and this is nice! I feel like the pores on my nose look a little cleaner somehow💭🤍 So this is Biore's pore-plug dissolver! Since it doesn't foam, maybe it's a little more irritating? Moisturizing after washing is important😳🎀🙌🏻 I want to keep using it!

BioreOuchi de Esthe Deep Clay Facial CleanserI bought this at Don Quijote 🛒 It was so popular that I could never find it, but I finally got one!! It doesn't feel bad to use and doesn't cause any irritation, but it leaves my skin feeling almost too squeaky-clean and smooth, so it seems like it might be hard on the skin... Rather than for everyday use, I think it's good as a temporary helper when my skin feels rough or when I want to do something about clogged pores 🙆♀️

FANCLSoftening Milk WashI bought this on LIPS🛒 I was looking for a milky cleanser to use in the morning, and ended up finding this popular one🥛 I use it not only in the morning, but also when my skin is feeling sensitive or when I'm not wearing much makeup. There's no irritation at all, and I think it's a cleanser that truly lives up to the name Softening Milk Wash🙆♀️

BiodermaSensibio H2O Micellar Water【Used Up】 I've been using this for over 20 years, and I have no idea how many times I've bought it 🛒 I first bought it at Sony Plaza in Shinjuku Lumine, before it became Plaza (I think). Back then, you could only buy it at places like Sony Plaza or stores that sold imported goods (if I remember right). Now you can get it anywhere, so I buy another one before I run out. When I'm not hopping straight into the 🛀🚿 after getting home, I use it with a cotton pad to take my makeup off for the time being. It's one of the skincare products I never want to see discontinued.

OrbisThe Cleansing Oil[Finished] I forget where I first started buying it I buy the refills from the Orbis online store 🛒 Unless I find something better, this is my top-tier oil cleanser (price range included) Even though it's an oil, it doesn't need emulsifying, and it's fine if your hands or face are wet (though I feel like it's better if they're not). It removes makeup quickly, doesn't leave any residue, doesn't make my skin feel tight, and doesn't cause irritation. Nothing baad to say about it 👍

AnuaHeartleaf Pore Control Cleansing OilI bought this on Qoo10🛒 I came across it when I was struggling to choose an oil cleanser, and I still use it as a stopgap when I run out of my go-to. Yep, it's my second-string cleanser... I just can't stand the smell, and I haven't found anything particularly good about it... It doesn't seem to suit my skin or makeup. That said, I've used more than half of it. It's really popular and I think it's a bestseller, so I imagine it works for most people🙆♀️

BioreOuchi de Esthe Gel Facial CleanserThis is a facial cleanser I love and have been using forever. I work it into my skin in circular motions, like a massage, focusing on the areas where clogged pores bother me. I use it twice a week + a pore care spatula (from ilso). This probably isn't something I should do too often since it's not good for the skin T_T My skin is sensitive and I don't do well with harsh facial cleansers, so I'm happy that this feels gentle and lets me care for my pores every day. My skin feels moisturized after washing, without any tightness. I noticed a change in my pores after using it consistently. I keep one by the sink and one in the bathroom. Since I use it every day, I also love that it comes in a large size.

KoséMinions Softymo Super Point Makeup Remover【Used Up】 I've been repurchasing this for over 25 years now🛒 It's available at pretty much any drugstore, so I've bought it from all sorts of places I always have the next one on standby🫶 I still haven't found a better eye makeup remover, so I hope they keep making it as long as I keep wearing makeup lol The best thing is that it doesn't sting my eyes at all!! It removes even the heaviest makeup. I don't think it even needs recommending anymore, though 😂 I'd recommend it to anyone!!

CurelIntensive Moisture Care Makeup Cleansing MilkThis is a wipe-off cleansing milk. I mainly used it in winter. As soon as I got home, I'd put some on a cotton pad and wipe my makeup off. I didn't do any extra moisturizing or anything afterward. In winter, pollen and dryness would make my skin itchy, so I'd scratch it and it would get all torn up, over and over again, but thanks to this product, that happens less often! It might not remove everything if you wear heavy makeup. (Mascara, eyeliner, etc.) I recommend using a generous amount!

KoséCarte HD Moisture Cleansing Oil GelFinished my 3rd or 4th bottle Since it's an oil-gel cleanser, the cleansing power and hydration are just right! It spreads easily over my skin without any resistance, but still stays nice and thick, so there's no friction on my skin. If I emulsify it a little, it removes everyday makeup with no problem. I've never used it on a day when I was wearing mascara, so I don't know about that, but liquid foundation, brow mascara, and eyeliner come off easily! It doesn't leave any cleanser behind on my skin, and my skin doesn't feel tight afterward. A daily cleanser I can use every time🌟🌟

KaneboScrubbing Mud WashI mainly use it on my T-zone and chin for pore care. It spreads and lathers well, and a little goes a long way, so it's great value◎ It's my favorite scrub. It contains slightly larger granules, but they blend in quickly and don't irritate my skin. It leaves my skin smooth, and after washing, it feels refreshed without any tightness. It's a facial cleanser the whole family can use. I'll keep using it.

Shu UemuraUltime8 Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil nThis has long been the go-to luxury cleansing oil, and I totally get why it's stayed so popular. It removes makeup thoroughly, and my skin doesn't feel tight afterward.

BeplainMung Bean pH-Balanced Cleansing FoamIt didn't really feel like it was removing any dirt, and somehow it just felt like a nothing face wash 😢

AlbionInfinesse Deep Suction Cleansing MilkI bought this with high hopes because I love Albion and it's a cleansing milk. I have thin skin that's prone to redness, and cleansing products can easily throw my skin off, so I usually tend to choose milk types. But this just didn't work for my skin🥲 I thought "cleansing milk = seems like it'd be gentle on the skin," but in my case, it sometimes felt irritating while I was using it, and it was especially hard to use when my skin was acting up. I've always liked Albion skincare itself, but I won't be repurchasing this. I gave up partway through and gave it to my mom (sob) Infinesse is a line I want to like, but another serum from the line irritated my skin too, so maybe it just isn't very compatible with my skin. If being gentle on the skin is the top priority, I overwhelmingly preferred the cleansing milks from M-mark and Minon.

CovermarkTreatment Cleansing MilkI bought this hoping it would be gentle on my skin, but in terms of gentleness, it wasn't quite right for me. I bought it during a period when I couldn't find the right cleanser and was looking for "a gentle milk cleanser." I have thin skin that's prone to redness, and changing cleansers in particular tends to affect my skin's condition. I started using Covermark with pretty high expectations, but it didn't feel as non-irritating as I'd expected on my skin. I can use it when my skin is in its usual condition, but it can feel irritating when my skin is unstable, such as during seasonal changes. It wasn't that I disliked how it felt to use, but being able to use a cleanser "even on days when my skin is in bad condition" is very important to me, so I won't repurchase. Milk cleansers from Minon and M-mark worked better for me.

FREBITSGrind Vita Cleansing BalmAt first glance, it looks like a cleansing balm in a jar, but it's actually a twist-up product that doesn't require a spatula, which is incredibly convenient. You can dispense just the amount you need and use it right away, so I love that there's no hassle of having to get a spatula or getting balm under my nails. It's also hygienic and easy to use ◎ As for how it performs, it blends well with makeup and is easy to use if you're wearing light makeup, but on days when I'm wearing heavier makeup, it doesn't seem to remove everything completely in one go. It still feels like a little makeup is left behind after rinsing, so personally, I felt that double cleansing leaves my skin feeling cleaner. Rather than using it to “remove everything with just this one product” on full-makeup days, I think it's better suited for people who want something quick and easy to use on light-makeup days. I really like how easy it is to use, with no spatula needed and the twist-up design. I think it's a great option for people who want to use a cleansing balm but find jars annoying to deal with. The convenience of being able to cleanse smoothly every time was a definite plus ◎
