Plus EauHydro MistI’ve been using Plus Eau’s Hydro Mist for years. I personally have thick, voluminous hair. Using Hydro Mist makes my hair easier to manage. I recommend using it in the bath before applying conditioner—the effect is noticeable when you apply conditioner to hair that’s been sprayed with it. I feel like it’s harder to notice any effect when using it only before blow-drying after a shower, so I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5, taking off one star. By the way, I love Plus Eau’s Hydro Mist so much that I also tried their shampoo and conditioner, but they didn’t really work for me. I didn’t notice any particular effect, and they were just average—neither good nor bad. They’re not that expensive, so I guess they’re about what you’d expect for the price. Plus Eau originally became well known because of this Hydro Mist, I believe, so this mist is still definitely the one I recommend the most!

SofinaiP Base Care SerumI’m on my third bottle, and I also have two more stocked up at home. This is truly my favorite base serum (I use it as a first-step serum). It’s a little pricey, but it’s essential for my skin to the point that I’m still willing to buy it. Ever since I started using this base serum, my skin has been consistently calmer. I’ve had fewer skin problems like acne and redness. Even when I get my skin analyzed, I’m told that my skin looks younger than my age and that my texture is fine. I use all kinds of lotions, serums, and creams depending on my skin’s condition, but this is my favorite skincare product that I use every day without fail. If your skin starts acting up, this is one product I really want you to try.

MaybellineSky High PrimerI absolutely love this mascara primer. I have monolids, so my lashes don’t really curl up with a lash lift, and when I get lash extensions, the volume ends up on my upper lids, making the length of my midface stand out even more, so I basically use mascara and an eyelash curler for my lashes. This mascara primer is what I recommend to people like that. It lasts well, adds a little color, and makes my lashes look longer, so I love it. It also works well with black mascara, and since it dries relatively quickly, you can layer mascara on top right away. On days when I’m wearing light makeup, I sometimes use just this to create my lashes, and on days when I’m wearing heavier makeup, I layer this mascara primer first and then apply multiple coats of mascara. The mascara brush is also designed with fine bristles that are less likely to clump, so it’s easy to apply exactly where you want, and I recommend it. It’s easy enough to apply that I’d recommend how manageable it is even to beginners. I’ve tried about five different mascara primers so far, but on days when I really want to define my lashes, I will absolutely use this Maybelline primer.

ShiseidoRevitalessence Skin Glow Foundation SPF30I love this foundation and have repurchased it about twice. Honestly, the coverage is on the lower side when using this foundation alone. But I keep repurchasing it because my skin feels so much better than that downside! You can make up for the coverage to some extent by using a primer and powder with good coverage. Since switching to this foundation, my skin has been in good condition, and I feel like it helps maintain a dewy look and moisture. A BA also told me, “I think it’s better for your skin to wear this foundation than not to wear it,” so I’ve been trusting her and wearing it. But when I think about how bare skin can also be burdened, I feel like she may not have been entirely wrong. As a foundation, the color is natural and blends in well. I use shade 140. (It wasn’t one of the options, so I couldn’t select it.) A BA at the department store helped me choose this shade. The coverage is decent; it doesn’t hide dark spots, but it can cover the skin tone evenly. My skin tends to get dry in winter, so the foundation starts to separate after about three hours. It might not be enough for those who want perfect coverage, but for me, who prioritizes the condition of my skin, this is a foundation I can’t live without!

HeraLip SerumI’m using 220 Sundaes. It’s a tint lip product. The color goes on sheer, but it gives a subtle, natural, and cute flush of color. The texture is a little tacky for a tint. I also feel like it’s one of the easier tints to fade. Tints with more intense color tend to be inexpensive, but I think a lot of them are the watery type that stains the color into your lips. This one is around 3,500 to 4,000 yen, so it’s on the pricier side for a lip tint, and I think the slightly tacky feel is because it’s the type that lays color on top of your lips rather than staining them. I think it depends on your preferences, but at this price, I prefer a lip product with more distinct color payoff and better staying power, so I probably won’t repurchase this one. That said, I do like it for natural makeup because the color payoff is cute.
