UIQ (Genome & Company)Biome Barrier TonerThe name changed from Biome Barrier Toner to Biome Barrier Treatment Essence. The texture is somewhere between watery and thick. I like this kind of consistency. I apply 2–3 layers with a cotton pad. It isn't sticky. I want to take care of my skin barrier, so I want to keep using this.

AplinPink Tea Tree TonerI’d been curious about the cute pink color, and it turns out this serum uses absolutely no artificial coloring and gets its color from “natural pink vitamins” 🫶🏻 It has a fresh, slightly thick texture that absorbs well into the skin and feels nicely moisturizing✨ I also love that I can do my skincare while enjoying the soothing floral scent😍

WeledaWild Rose Moisture LotionIt has a light texture that spreads easily, and feels nice and moisturizing on the skin✨ The fresh rose scent is so soothing~🥰 I love roses, so now I look forward to my daily skincare routine🌹 During the dry season, I want to take good care of my skin and make it soft and plump✨

ElixirBrightening Lotion CAI bought this because I wanted a toner that also provides brightening care. I used it long enough to receive about three recurring deliveries! I use the "moist type." It's a slightly thick toner, but once you work it into your skin, it surprisingly feels like it absorbs really well, without feeling too sticky or heavy. My skin is thin and prone to dryness, so I like toners that feel like they properly replenish moisture. This was easy to use because it feels moisturizing without being too heavy. It's a quasi-drug containing 4MSK, an active brightening ingredient, and another reason I bought it was that I could get brightening care and age-appropriate moisturizing care at the same time. It comes in a fresh type and a moist type, but I'm definitely on team moist! I get it through recurring delivery, and the pump dispenser I received with my first order was also super convenient. Since it's something I use every day, this makes things way easier than I expected 😂

IPSAThe Time R Aqua EThe sample was so good that I ended up spending 5,500 yen on a toner. I used to be all about affordable toners, but I really liked how the sample felt, so I bought the full size. My skin is thin and prone to dryness, and it often feels like it's lacking moisture, but I like how this makes my skin feel thoroughly replenished and hydrated after using it. It's not a sticky, heavy kind of moisture—it feels fresh and dewy. It's been about three months since I bought it, and I've been alternating it with other toners, but so far it's a firm favorite. In terms of comparing products under the Shiseido umbrella, I also tried SHISEIDO Eudermine Activating Essence, and to me, it felt somewhat similar in the sense that it “hydrates with a fresh, dewy feel and leaves my skin balanced.” Eudermine is 9,900 yen for 145 mL, while IPSA is 5,500 yen for 200 mL. Of course, they're different products, so you can't compare them directly, but when it comes to what I want from a toner—“the feeling that my skin has been thoroughly replenished with moisture,” IPSA is extremely satisfying. The packaging is so beautiful that I'd just assumed it cost over 10,000 yen, so the fact that I saw 5,500 yen and thought, “That's surprisingly cheap!” means my sense of money is completely broken 👼 It's scary that my toner budget keeps going up and up, but this is a contender for a repurchase even after I finish it.

Skin&LabGlutathione Ampoule TonerThis toner caught my attention after I saw a makeup artist PICK it. What got me interested was purely a beauty professional's recommendation, but when I looked at the ingredients, I saw that it contains 3,000 ppm of 99% pure glutathione. I had always associated glutathione itself with IV drips and supplements, so I was surprised and intrigued to find it in skincare too. It also contains niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate, polyglutamic acid, ceramide NP, and more, and personally, I really liked the combination of ingredients as well. Rather than a product that puts glutathione alone front and center, it feels more like a toner that replenishes moisture while helping with dullness caused by dryness and improving the overall condition of the skin. The texture is on the moisturizing side but not too heavy, and it's easy to layer. Personally, I I like that it feels more like an ampoule toner, just as the name suggests, than a regular toner. I initially checked it out because “it was recommended,” but after actually looking at the ingredients and how it feels to use, I can see why this product is so popular. It's a toner I'd like people who choose products based on ingredients to check out at least once.

IPSAThe Time R Aqua EI love this product and have repurchased it 3 or 4 times. Lately I've only been using Korean products, so I haven't gotten to use this, but when I do, my skin feels like it's filled with moisture, and it's such a good product that it makes me think, this really is the one! It's just slightly viscous, but basically very watery. It's a product that helps your skin retain more moisture, so I think it's good for people with dehydrated skin or anyone who wants to boost hydration. It's a basic product, and I think it'll probably work for a lot of people's skin.

MatsuyamaHadauru Moisturizing Infusion Balancing LotionMy whole family shares and uses this at my parents' house. Above all, it's very gentle, and the best thing about it is that it absorbs gently without stinging, even when my skin is irritated or during seasons when it's prone to sensitivity. It's not sticky, but it thoroughly moisturizes all the way to the stratum corneum and helps calm my skin down. Anyone can use it comfortably regardless of age or skin type, so I think it's perfect for at-home skincare for the whole family. We plan to keep repurchasing it as a staple at my parents' house.

TorridenDive-In Low Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Skin BoosterI use this as the first booster after washing my face. It has a gel-like texture, but it absorbs right in without feeling like it’s sitting on my skin, and the stickiness doesn’t bother me, so it’s easy to move on to the next step in my skincare routine. It feels refreshing and gives my skin a boost of hydration. It’s fragrance-free too, which is a plus. I also think it’s a great value since you get 200 ml for less than 2,000 yen! In terms of how it feels, for my combination skin that leans dry (dehydrated skin), it’s better suited for spring and summer and doesn’t feel like enough for fall and winter. Because it absorbs so well, I start to feel dry unless I apply the next skincare product fairly quickly. It doesn’t feel moisturizing enough, but I really like that it doesn’t interfere with the rest of my skincare and that it’s easy to use under makeup too!

MatsuyamaHadauru Moisturizing Infusion Balancing LotionThis saved my skin when it was acting up, and I've repurchased it twice! When the seasons changed, my usual skincare routine stopped feeling like enough, and my skin started feeling parched and tight. By evening, it would get itchy and irritated, so I thought, "This is bad," and started using this when I reevaluated my skincare routine. That's when I added Matsuyama's lotion and cream. For me, this combination was really easy to use, and my skin started to calm down, so I've relied on it whenever my skin is acting up ever since. I liked the lotion so much that I've repurchased it twice. I'm usually the type who wants to try all kinds of lotions, but it's really reassuring to have something I can think, "I can use this," when my skin isn't doing well. It worked especially well for me during times when my skin was prone to dryness, tightness, and irritation, like when the seasons change. I want to keep this lotion on hand for whenever my skin acts up in the future.

MujiClear Care Light Toning Water RenewalWhen my skin is acting up or feels like it's about to, I wipe it with this before doing the rest of my skincare. It's not very irritating, and when I soak a cotton pad with plenty of it and wipe my skin, I feel like redness and little bumps clear up faster. In summer, it's also nice to chill it and use it as a cotton pad mask. If you like watery toners, I think this will probably be your type too. You get a lot, so it's great that you can use it generously. It's one of the skincare products I always keep stocked.

ChifureWipe-Off LotionI've repurchased this more times than I can count over the past few years. When my skin is acting up, for some reason it seems to do better if I use this as the very first step in my skincare routine, so I always use it when the seasons change. My favorite way to use it is to attach a spray head and spritz it on.

NumbuzinNo.3 Super Glowing Essence TonerIt has a slightly thick texture, but it absorbs well into the skin, and I personally like the scent too. I have dry to combination skin, so I use it in my nighttime skincare routine. It feels moisturizing and gives my skin a nice glow, so it's one of the toners I'm considering repurchasing!
-
Hada LaboShirojyun White Moisturizing LotionAn easy-to-use lotion for my daily skincare routine🫧 I love how it feels fresh and lightweight and doesn't get too sticky. In the summer, my combination skin leans oily, so I prefer something this light over a rich, heavy lotion◎ It's great not only for daily moisturizing care, but also for brightening care* since I'm concerned about dullness. It's easy to adjust the amount based on how my skin is doing, and easy to work into my morning skincare routine too. It doesn't have any particular quirks, and in the end, something I can use every day without a second thought is the easiest to use. *Suppresses melanin production and helps prevent dark spots and freckles

COSRXPropolis Synergy TonerBefore I knew it, I’d repurchased it four times. It’s a slightly viscous toner that leaves my skin feeling hydrated and plump. It is a little sticky, but personally, it’s not enough to bother me. It’s also fragrance-free, so it’s easy to use. If I generously use it for a cotton pad mask, my skin feels even more hydrated. It layers well with other serums too, so this is a toner I find myself reaching for often.

JINOAmino Enriched LotionJINO Moist Amino Enriched Lotion I (Moist Type) This lotion is actually from Ajinomoto, the food company! It’s a lotion focused on amino acids, and because it’s from Ajinomoto, which has been researching amino acids for many years, I think it’s the ultimate lotion! I became a fan after trying a sample at an event and have continued purchasing it ever since. As someone with rhinitis, my nose would constantly peel during the dry winter months, leaving my makeup a total mess, but ever since I started using this, my nose has gone back to normal…! It has pretty much solved the winter problem I’d been struggling with for years. It also has the nice, normal scent of a lotion, and even though it’s the moisturizing type, it feels light and smooth, so it’s very easy to use.
