About Tetrapeptide-61
Tetrapeptide-61 is a synthetic peptide made up of alanine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, and glycine.[1] The number 61 at the end of the name is only an identification number used to distinguish different peptides; it does not indicate the amount used or rank of efficacy. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formulation ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen, help reduce plaque buildup on the tooth surface, and reduce tangling and rough feel in hair to leave it smoother and easier to manage.[2] It is also used to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth and to protect the skin from external factors.[2]
