About Tetradecyloctadecyl Behenate
Tetradecyloctadecyl Behenate is an ester of tetradecyloctadecanol and behenic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help the ingredients in a formulation bind together and maintain its form, keep emulsions of water and oil from separating easily, and form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application.[2] It is also used to reduce light transmission so the contents appear less translucent and to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2]
