About Tea-PEG-50 Hydrogenated Castor Oil Succinate

TEA-PEG-50 Hydrogenated Castor Oil Succinate is the triethanolamine salt of PEG-50 Hydrogenated Castor Oil Succinate.[1] The number 50 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; within the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2] In Europe, it may be used at up to 2.5% in leave-on products, with no separate maximum concentration specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[3]
