About Tea-Lauryl Phosphate

Tea-Lauryl Phosphate is the triethanolamine salt of a complex mixture of esters of phosphoric acid and lauryl alcohol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it resist collapsing, and lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, it may be used at up to 2.5% in leave-on products; no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
