About Tea-Hydrogenated Tallowoyl Glutamate
Tea-Hydrogenated Tallowoyl Glutamate is the triethanolamine salt of the hydrogenated tallow fatty acid amide of glutamic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, to reduce hair tangling and rough feel for smoother grooming, and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the maximum level is 2.5% in leave-on products, with no separate maximum concentration specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no higher than 50 μg/kg.[2]
