About Tea-Diricinoleate

TEA-Diricinoleate is an ester in which portions derived from an acid and an alcohol are joined.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, form a thin film on the skin, hair, or nail surface after application, and condition the skin surface to feel soft and smooth.[3] In Europe, it is limited to 2.5% in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
