About Tea-Cocoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen

Tea-Cocoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen is the triethanolamine salt of the condensation product of coconut acid chloride and hydrolyzed collagen.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, help sebum and impurities wash away with water, and reduce tangling and rough feel to leave hair smooth. It is also used to leave the skin feeling soft and smooth and to reduce surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the maximum concentration is 2.5% in leave-on products, with no separate maximum concentration specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2] [3]
