About Synthetic Beeswax

Synthetic Beeswax is a wax synthesized to generally match the composition and physical properties of natural beeswax. It consists mainly of a mixture of esters of even-numbered straight-chain acids and alcohols containing 16–36 carbons. Because its lipid components are predominant, it mixes better with oils than with water.[1] It is suitable for adding slip and a soft, supple feel to skin or hair while reducing the sensation of moisture evaporating quickly. In cosmetics, it is used to help the ingredients in a formulation bind together and maintain its shape, to prevent water-and-oil emulsions from separating easily, and to control the formulation’s viscosity and flow.[2]
