About Sodium/Tea-Undecylenoyl Hydrolyzed Corn Protein
Sodium/TEA-Undecylenoyl Hydrolyzed Corn Protein is a mixture of the triethanolamine salt and sodium salt of a condensation product consisting of undecylenic acid chloride and hydrolyzed corn protein.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, to smooth and condition hair by reducing tangling and rough feel, and to leave the skin surface soft and smooth. It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, it may be used at up to 2.5% in leave-on products, with no separate maximum concentration specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2] [3]
