About Sodium/Tea-Lauroyl Keratin Amino Acids
Sodium/Tea-Lauroyl Keratin Amino Acids is a mixture of the triethanolamine salt and sodium salt of a condensate formed from lauric acid chloride and keratin amino acids.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or cling together, help sebum and dirt rinse away with water, and reduce tangling and rough feel in hair for smoother manageability.[3] It is also used to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the maximum concentration is 2.5% in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is set for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 ฮผg/kg.[2]
