About Sodium/Tea-Lauroyl Hydrolyzed Collagen
Sodium/TEA-Lauroyl Hydrolyzed Collagen is a mixture of the sodium and triethanolamine salts of the condensation product composed of lauric acid chloride and hydrolyzed collagen.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, and to reduce tangling and roughness for smoother hair conditioning.[3] It is also used to leave the skin surface soft and smooth and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, it is limited to a maximum of 2.5% in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
