About Sodium Peanutate

Sodium peanutate is the sodium salt of fatty acids derived from peanut oil.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and reduce surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2] It is also used to adjust a formula’s viscosity and flow.[2]
