About Shea Butter Glycerides

Shea Butter Glycerides are a mixture of mono-, di-, and triglycerides obtained from shea butter.[1] In cosmetics, they are used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, help prevent the emulsified state from separating easily, and smooth the hair by reducing tangling and a rough feel.[2] They are also used to leave the skin's surface feeling soft and smooth, lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly, and adjust the viscosity and flow of the formulation.[2]
