About PPG-30 Tocophereth-70

PPG-30 Tocophereth-70 is an alkoxylated derivative of tocopherol containing an average of 30 moles of propylene oxide and an average of 70 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 30 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. This number, together with the type of fatty component attached, affects how well it mixes with oils and its application feel. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formulation ingredients caused by reaction with oxygen, help formulation ingredients bind together and maintain the product’s form, and leave the skin’s surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
