Pinus Pumila Needle Extract is an ingredient extracted from the needles of Pinus pumila.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce tangling and roughness in hair and leave it feeling smooth, to attract moisture to the formula and skin’s surface and help maintain a moisturized feel, and to leave the skin’s surface feeling soft and smooth.[4] In Korea, oils and extracts from needles and twigs with a peroxide value exceeding 10 mmol/L cannot be used in cosmetics.[2] In Europe, only raw materials with a peroxide value below 10 mmol/L may be used.[3]
