About PEG-75 Shea Butter Glycerides

PEG-75 Shea Butter Glycerides are polyethylene glycol derivatives of glycerides derived from shea butter containing an average of 75 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 75 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; within the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formula. In cosmetics, they are used to create emulsion formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
