About PEG-7 Sunflower Glycerides

PEG-7 Sunflower Glycerides are polyethylene glycol derivatives of mono- and diglycerides derived from sunflower seed oil, containing an average of 7 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 7 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. For the same base structure, changing this number may affect water compatibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, they are used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
